Inauguration of Induction Program for First-Year Engineering Students at GF's Godavari College of Engineering

On 22nd September 2025, the Induction Program for the newly admitted first-year engineering students at Godavari College of Engineering, Jalgaon began in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and inspiration. The program commenced with Saraswati Poojan and lamp lighting, invoking the blessings of the Goddess of Knowledge. This was followed by the felicitation of the dignitaries.

The program was graced by the presence of  Prof Jacinth Dhaya (Vice Principal, Godavari College of Nursing) and  Prof Ashwini Vaidya (Head of Mental Health Nursing Department, Godavari College of Nursing) as the Chief Guests. All the Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members of the first-year were also present. Through the introductory session, students were familiarized with the academic and administrative structure of the institution.

 Dr Nitin Bhole (Head of Department – Basic Sciences and Humanities) addressed the students by introducing the first-year curriculum, subjects, laboratories, and available facilities. He guided students to nurture curiosity, build strong foundational knowledge, face challenges with confidence, and develop both cooperative and competitive approaches to learning.

Following this, the Principal,  Dr.  Vijaykumar Patil, extended his congratulations to the students for joining the prestigious Godavari College of Engineering. In his inspiring address, he highlighted the importance of physical and mental health, academic excellence, overall personality development, coding skills, research mindset, and the significance of all branches of engineering. He also shared details about the college’s advanced facilities, well-equipped library, research and innovation laboratories, and sports amenities, motivating the students to begin their academic journey with zeal and confidence.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Jacinth Dhaya, encouraged the students by emphasizing the values of hard work, dedication, innovative thinking, and a never-give-up attitude. She inspired students by narrating an anecdote from the life of Albert Einstein, urging them to cultivate creativity and innovation.

Similarly, Prof. Ashwini Vaidya motivated the students by stressing the importance of setting goals and objectives, qualities of a good engineer, and the responsibilities towards society. She appealed to them to believe in their potential and strive for continuous progress.

At the end of the morning session, students expressed their experiences and shared enthusiastic feedback. The session concluded with a vote of thanks.

In the afternoon,  Dr Vijaykumar  Wankhede (Training and Placement Officer) interacted with the students and delivered a session on placement guidance. He explained the importance of strong academics, discipline, and skill development in securing good job opportunities. He also advised students to understand the changing demands of the industry and remain continuously updated.

 

The event concluded with a vote of thanks. The induction program was successfully organized by the Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities, ensuring a smooth and informative experience for the newly admitted students.  Prof Pankaj Patil and  Prof.  Khushali Beldar served as the coordinator for the event, overseeing all arrangements and ensuring the program's success, alongside with them First year faculty were with them during the induction program.The anchoring duties were excellently handled by Second year computer engineering student  Ms Nayan Lalwani and Prof. Khushali Beldar, who kept the program engaging and well-structured throughout the sessions.

 

Thus, the first day of the Induction Program concluded successfully, providing the new students with a confident and positive beginning to their academic journey
